Committees
Connect and Engage! Joining a committee or alliance is a great way to connect with other business leaders in the community. These groups play an important role in executing the Chamber’s mission, and we encourage you to become involved with any of the programs listed below.
CHAMBER COMMITTEES
Ambassador Committee
Purpose: Promote the Chamber by building relationships with our members.
Ambassadors serve as greeters/hosts for select Chamber events and communicate with both new members and those renewing about their benefits and chamber activities. They attend ribbon cuttings and ground breakings and serve as a mentor to new members by helping them understand Chamber benefits.
Golf Tournament Committee
Purpose: Plan the annual golf tournament.
The golf committee helps plan the annual golf tournament which typically takes place in the fall. The committee is open to Chamber members in good standing.
Governmental Affairs Committee
Purpose: Identify and analyze issues impacting Georgetown and the business community.
The Governmental Affairs Committee evaluates advocacy positions on those issues and communicates the committee’s viewpoint to the Board of Directors for Board approval. This committee is chaired by a member in good standing and will include a minimum of nine (9) members of the organization as recommended by the Board Chair.
Military Affairs Committee
Purpose: Promote Georgetown and engage the greater Georgetown business community to celebrate, support, maintain, and grow the military presence in Georgetown and the surrounding communities.
The Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee focuses on building ties between the business community and local military organizations to include Army Futures Command, Texas Military Forces, and Fort Cavazos.
CHAMBER ALLIANCES
Georgetown Development Alliance (GDA)
Purpose: Identify and analyze issues impacting residential and commercial real estate developers within the Georgetown community.
The Georgetown Development Alliance is restricted to members actively involved in real estate development and related professions and industries. Contact the president or the committee chair if you are interested in being part of this committee.
Healthcare Alliance
Purpose: Improve the quality of healthcare in our community by fostering collaboration between local service providers, building consumer trust, increasing awareness, and providing educational resources.
The committee is limited to members who are in healthcare and other related services.
Manufacturers Alliance
Purpose: Connect and engage local manufacturers in Georgetown.
The Manufacturing Alliance is restricted to local manufacturers as well as representatives from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, and Austin Regional Manufacturers Association.
