The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is canceling all Chamber programs and events scheduled March 14 through March 29, following guidelines from the Williamson County and Cities Health District and similar actions taken by the City of Georgetown. Our temporary aggressive action now is in conjunction with the national effort to control the Coronavirus (COVID-19) sooner.
The Chamber will contact members with existing reservations at the March Lunch and Learn and Cornerstone Luncheon to discuss available options.
The Chamber will utilize social media and email to communication regularly with our members and provide updates.
We will continue to monitor the impact and spread of the coronavirus and closely follow updates from theWilliamson County & Cities Health District, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention.
Private reservations of the Georgetown Event Center will be allowed to proceed as scheduled at this time. Should this change, renters will be notified as soon as possible.
Additionally, the Chamber is taking immediate actions to address this risk to visitors of our office by distributing hand sanitizers, enhance facility cleaning and disinfection, and the installation of antibacterial soap in all sink areas.
We encourage our business members to consultant with the United States Small Business Administration’s resources available via clicking here.
As a reminder, DSHS recommends these everyday actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick, except to seek medical care.
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce has been facilitating economic success for our community since 1947 and we feel confident we will continue to be there for our members during these challenging moments.
