Connect and Engage! Joining a Committee or Alliance is a great way to connect with other business leaders in the community. These groups play an important role in executing the Chamber’s mission, and we encourage you to become involved with any of the programs listed below. If you see a Committee/Alliance that you are interested in, contact the staff member listed under the description or fill out the form below. Committees and Alliances are open to members in good standing.

CHAMBER COMMITTEES

Ambassador Committee
Purpose: Promote the Chamber by building relationships with our members.
The Georgetown Chamber Ambassador Program is designed to strengthen member engagement, enhance new member onboarding, and elevate the overall Chamber experience. Ambassadors serve as visible leaders within the Chamber community. They foster welcoming environments and support Chamber initiatives.

Special Events Committee
Purpose: Plan the Annual Banquet, Bowling for Business tournament, and Golf tournament.
The special events committee helps plan the Annual Banquet, Bowling for Business tournament, Golf tournament, and other special events.

Leadership Georgetown Planning Committee
Purpose: Identify, recruit, develop, and mentor dedicated people aspiring to provide leadership in our business and community activities.
Assist staff in identifying key topics relevant to the community and selecting appropriate speakers and presenters. Subcommittees consist of day planners, class project planning, and alumni activities. Committee members must be program graduates.

Jr. Leadership Georgetown Planning Committee
Purpose: Cultivate the next generation of community leaders.
Plan, organize, and execute a program to develop leadership skills in high school students by exposing them to various aspects of the community, including local businesses, government, and social services. Reviews applications and coordinate sessions. Must be a Leadership Georgetown Graduate.

Legislative Agenda Committee
Purpose: Identify, develop, and monitor a legislative agenda that supports the business community.
Develops and recommends policy to the Board that advocates for business and supports the Chamber mission. They also monitor legislation to ensure it supports the business community.

CHAMBER ALLIANCES

Georgetown Development Alliance (GDA)
Purpose: Identify and analyze issues impacting residential and commercial real estate developers within the Georgetown community.
Provide an open and efficient line of communication between City staff and the development community by providing timely and accurate information to our membership for issues related to development. Limited to members in real estate and related services.

Workforce Development Alliance (WDA)
Purpose: Identify and analyze the needs of our local workforce.
Organizes multiple programs and events throughout the year that benefit and strengthen the workforce in our community. Alliance members help execute Teacher Externships by recruiting business participation.

Women in Business Alliance
Purpose: Create an environment where women can connect, learn from their peers, and grow their network.
Provide professional and leadership development, as well as networking and marketing through monthly meetings.

Veteran's/Military Affairs Alliance
Purpose: Build a community of veterans/veteran-owned businesses
Connect veterans with local veteran-owned businesses. Provide valuable insights into underutilized military benefits, funds, grants, and resources. Offer knowledge for successful integration into the private sector.

Healthcare Alliance
Purpose: Improve the quality of healthcare in our community by fostering collaboration between local service providers, building consumer trust, increasing awareness, and providing educational resources.
The committee is limited to members who are in healthcare and other related services.

Manufacturing Alliance
Purpose: Connect and engage local manufacturers in Georgetown.
Support existing manufacturing businesses by identifying industry trends and bringing in relevant guest speakers/topics. Alliance members will help execute Manufacturing Day.
