Networking
Need additional business contacts? The Chamber holds multiple networking events every month so members can meet, develop business relationships, and increase their professional network. Held the 2nd Tuesday of the month, Business Network Lunch is the Chamber’s largest monthly event. It attracts more than 100 business professionals. Business After Hours, held the 3rd Thursday of the month, provides no-cost networking in a come-and-go format. Face 2 Face Speed Networking gives attendees structured, one-on-one networking time with other members.
Education and Community Engagement
Lunch & Learn Business Seminars (4th Wednesday) offer the opportunity to learn about a topic that promotes economic success in the business community. The quarterly Cornerstone Luncheon brings in a distinguished speaker from outside of the Georgetown community. Each luncheon focuses on one of the four cornerstones for a Chamber of excellence, education, economic development, healthcare, and public safety. Those looking for an in-depth, behind the scenes look of Georgetown will enjoy Leadership Georgetown. Leadership Georgetown is a program that identifies and develops talented and committed citizens who aspire to provide leadership in Georgetown’s business and community activities. Only Chamber members may participate.
Visibility
Chamber members are able to leave business cards and company-related brochures on display in our lobby. The Chamber is often the first stop for visitors and new residents of Georgetown. Holding a special event? You can add your event to our member events calendar. Events coming up in the next week will be listed in the newsletter. Businesses that are new to the Chamber, under new ownership, or opening a new location are able to schedule a ribbon cutting. Ribbon cuttings are available Monday thru Thursday at 12:15 pm or 5:15 pm. We will bring everything you need from the large scissors, ribbon, and camera, and notify all Ambassadors. Photos taken will be sent to you and posted in our newsletter and on our Facebook page.
Committees & Taskforces
The ambassador program is a pro-active, networking arm of the Chamber that participates in ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings, welcoming new members to our organization. They also recruit new members and meet for lunch on the 1st Wednesday of each month. This is a great opportunity to meet business owners that are new to Georgetown. Chamber members can also get involved with our special events committees, the Georgetown Bridal Show committee and the Golf Tournament committee, or with the Military Affairs Committee. There are also industry-specific committees for healthcare, developers, and manufacturing. Finally, there is a Government Affairs Committee and a Workforce Development Alliance.
Referrals
Looking for potential customers and leads? The Chamber can help. Each day the Chamber receives phone calls and emails from potential customers looking for businesses that can help them with specific goods or services. We recommend Chamber member businesses when we receive a referral request. In addition to the telephone calls and walk-in inquiries, the online business directory helps people find your business 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
Member Discounts
Chamber members can take advantage of our Member Discount program that offers discounts to all of our 1,000+ member businesses. Discounts are listed in the weekly newsletter and on the website. Members are also able to get a membership list in a spreadsheet format for the discounted rate of $25. Lastly, members can take advantage of reduced rates on meetings room available inside the Chamber of Commerce building. The board room accommodates 15 people, and the event center accommodates 150-200 people.
Marketing, Advertising, & Sponsorships
Need to connect with potential customers? There is a display board on the front of the Chamber building with a map of Georgetown surrounded by ads. Each ad had a pushbutton that when pressed lights up the business location on the map. Print publications include the Guide to Georgetown & Chamber Membership Directory and the Map of Georgetown & Williamson County, both of which are included in all relocation packets. Website advertisements include banner ads and logo listings. Sponsorships of Chamber events is also available. There is something for every budget.
