Signage for Displaced Businesses

March 27, 2019 By Dana Sanders Leave a Comment

Last week, we hosted a meeting among businesses displaced by the recent Atmos Energy gas leak on Williams Drive. We invited elected officials and leadership from the Chamber, City, County, and State to attend the event, as well as representatives from Atmos Energy. From this meeting, we compiled a list of the local businesses displaced: Williams Drive Business Listing. This list is updated regularly as new information is provided.

In an effort to further assist the businesses affected by the evacuations, we have initiated a signage program, which will provide displaced businesses with one (1) 3 ft. x 8ft. banner and one (1) 18 in. x 24 in. corex sign.

This program was made possible after the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors approved an allocation of funds to be used for this project.

“After meeting with the businesses impacted by the evacuation, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce wanted to assist them with communicating with the community. This program was assisted by the City of Georgetown’s recent action item to waive permit fees and expedite the sign review process for the impacted businesses.” Georgetown Chamber President & CEO Jim Johnson.
